Description:
Melodia Recording of Nikolayeva's Goltberg RevivedMore than a quarter of a century after her death, Tatiana Nikolayeva (1924-1993) is still talked about as one of the legendary pianists of the Soviet era. She is known for her amazing technique that allows her to play any difficult piece with great skill, but it was her interpretations of the Goltberg Variations and other Bach recordings that made her world-famous. She won the first prize at the International Bach Competition in Leipzig, and was even credited with inspiring Shostakovich to write the "24 Preludes and Fugues". The recording is printed as "1970 Melodia Recording," but the correct year is 1979. Please note that there is no correction on the printed version. King International
